As part of the SCALEUP Program’s collaborative initiatives, Gov. Ferrer Memorial Integrated National High School (GFMINHS), in partnership with the DOST–Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), conducted the β€œLights, Camera, Rolling” Video Production Workshop for students and school publication advisers.

Participants from the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ), Senior High School, and the School Publication joined the training-workshop designed to strengthen their competencies in multimedia storytelling and video production. Day 1 activity focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to independently produce a 2–3-minute video, covering the three essential stages of production: pre-production, production, and post-production.

Through interactive discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, participants explored the fundamentals of concept development, storyboarding, scriptwriting, camera techniques, audio and visual elements, filming, and video editing. The workshop provided participants with opportunities to apply creative and technical principles in developing short-form video content.

Beyond developing technical competencies, the training emphasized the role of video as an effective medium for journalistic storytelling, science communication, and school-based information dissemination. The activity also encouraged students and publication advisers to integrate multimedia approaches into their school publications and other communication initiatives.
