On September 7, 2026, the Values Education Department successfully conducted a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) thru Focus Group Discussion (FGD) focusing on “Gender-Based Lesson Planning Using the ILAW Framework.

The activity was held at the Learning Resource Center at 9:40 AM and was participated by the Grade 7–10 teachers. The session provided an avenue for teachers to exchange ideas, share classroom experiences, and deepen their understanding of how gender-responsive approaches can be meaningfully integrated into lesson planning and classroom instruction.

The activity was headed by Ms. Marisol C. Sombrero, Head Teacher III, and Ms. Myren B. Navarro, Master Teacher II, with Ms. Mary Jane C. Bello, Teacher VI, serving as the Resource Speaker.

Through meaningful discussions and collaborative sharing, teachers were encouraged to reflect on their current teaching practices and explore ways to make lessons more inclusive, responsive, respectful, and sensitive to the diverse needs and experiences of every learner.

The session also emphasized that effective lesson planning goes beyond achieving learning competencies. It is also about creating a learning environment where every learner regardless of gender is valued, respected, heard, and given equal opportunities to participate and succeed.

Through continuous professional development and collaborative learning, our teachers remain committed to creating safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive learning spaces that support the holistic development of every learner.
